Pre-schooler French (3 and 4-year-olds*): A French class combining signed singing and play activities for pre-schoolers. Thursdays from 20th September, The Den, Burbage: 1.15 till 2.15 p.m.
(*and younger children at parents’ discretion)
- Structured singing time, which introduces our key words.
- Sensory play and other structured play opportunities, and free play for our children who prefer to explore. Our play may include water, sand, paint, playdough, various toys, jigsaws and books.
- Actions songs at the end, e.g. parachute play, balloons and bubbles.
The play opportunities include enough structure to help you build language, and enough freedom for those who like to explore.
I teach 6 different topics over a two year period, meaning that there is something new to learn each term. This term our topic is My Body and Me, or Le Corps, and is designed to help you and your child name the different body parts in French and learn the words for different sorts of movements, such as ‘jump’, ‘dance’ and ‘shake’. Topics last for 10 weeks and you can book on at any point during the course.
Class content is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, to support your child’s general development, as well as introducing French.
This term’s classes start on 20th September, with a half term break on 1st November.
Prices and booking:
Courses cost £50 for one child, payable in advance, for 10 weeks. (Discounts are available for siblings within the same class). You can also book short trials to see if this class is for you. A single class is payable at £8, or you can book a set of three classes for £18. If you then decide to book for the rest of the course, your initial payment is taken off the full price of the course.
